Hello, all. Here are some more Travancore Sisters pics from my parents’ photo albums.
A formal portrait of Ragini and Padmini:
A couple more of Ragini:
The three informal snaps below are faded and scratched, but I can’t resist posting them anyway. All were taken in Chennai, c. 1954.
Ragini with her brother, Chandran:
Ragini with my little sister, Jane:
Aren’t Ragini’s braids fantastic!
Finally, Padmini with Woodmans:
Padmini’s got me, and I’ve got Jane. Lee’s on the right. My mom and dad, Ruth and Everett Woodman, are in their thirties. Padmini would be in her early twenties.
oh my god,!!!
What a stunning beauties, really wonderful.
You have that hair cut even now!!
Betsy,
I dont have word to express my courtesy . May the Good God help you
I’m so glad your parents saved soooooo many pics!
Loved the pics. Ragini is so lovely.
The last “tiered” pic is nice too-you look pretty much the same even now!
Thank you very much for posting all these wonderful and rare photos of the Travancore Sisters and giving them context/discussing your memories. A collector’s dream! I noticed on the Meco Studios headshot of Ragini, when viewed full size it looks as though someone took a pen and extended Ragini’s eyelashes and added curly tendrils of hair on the sides of her face! 🙂 Made me smile.
Thanks very much for these rare shares – simply treasures !!
